Faculty of Physics and Information Technology

Having been founded in 1938, the Faculty of Physics is one of the oldest faculties of the Chechen State University. In 2010, the faculty was transformed into the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology (FP and IT) by the decision of the Academic Council of Chechen State University.

There are six educational programmes convened at the Faculty.

Three departments and the laboratory of Information and Communication Technologies carry out the educational process at the faculty:

General Physics Department (1938) – Head of the Department is Rukman Maksudovich Magomadov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor;

Theoretical Physics Department (1972) – Head of the Department is Raikom Khasimkhanovich Dadashev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor;

Physical Electronics Department (1989) – Acting Head of the Department is Zubkhadzhiev Magomed-Ali Vakhaevich, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences;

ICT Laboratory (2012) – Head of the Laboratory is Vakharsolt Takaevich Dzhamaluev, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.

“Erudite” – student science union – is successfully operating at the Faculty.

The union is composed of three student science societies, which are Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, and “TERAFLOPS”.

The “Telecommunications and Information Technologies” student society is headed by the Vice Dean of the Faculty for Academic Affairs Vakharsolt Takaevich Dzhamaluev

The supervisor of the “Robotics and Intelligent Systems” student science society is the Assistant Lecturer Islam Khamzatovich Salamov.

The “TERAFLOPS” student science society is run by Zarema Imranovna Dadasheva, Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Research.

The Physics and Information and Communication Technology Faculty Dean are Magomed-Ali Vakhaevic Zubkhadzhiev, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
